Foodbank

In the UK 13 million people live below the poverty line and every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy through to receiving an unexpected bill. Foodbank is a national Christian charity that works through partnership with groups of local churches to provide emergency food supplies for anyone in crisis.

Local churches in Chichester, Bognor Regis and Midhurst have worked together to set up and run Foodbanks in all three places. They provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis.

Foodbank is based on Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 25:35-36:

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me…

Grace Church supports Foodbank in a number of ways including providing finance, volunteering and collecting food. We have a Foodbank representative in each of our sites – why not speak to them to find out more?
